Location
The Travancore Heritage is a sea side resort in 15 acres of lush green coconut garden and landscaped environs. The Travancore Heritage is conceived and developed as a Heritage Property to bring to life the age-old traditional architectural splendor of the region with its typical timber houses and 'Nalukettus' with tiled roofing, which allow for living in communion with all the elements of Nature.
The resort stands on a high cliff overlooking the Arabian Sea and a long wide beach of powdery white sand. The resort is situated at Chowara - south of the Kovalam - and is a 40 minutes drive from the airport and 45 minutes from the railway station and bus station.
Facilities and Services
The resort offers a Conference Hall with a capacity of 100 guests, a large swimming pool, childrens pool and set of Jacuzzis and a health club. The Beach Side activity center is in an acre of land with lush green swaying coconut palms by the side of the beach with access from the main resort area on the cliff. The center serves snacks and beverages and also issues fresh beach towels. It has a few lockers, fresh water shower rooms, toilets and change rooms.
Games like beach volley ball are organized on request. Nature walks on the extensive network of pavements and along the edge of the cliff can also be organized. Other entertainment options include Barbeque service and cultural shows. Beside all this the resort has a travel desk and a small shop selling items of everyday necessity as well as curios.
Room Amenities
The resort has a wide range of accommodation. The Pool Mansions suites have private pools set in independent villas, with air conditioned spacious bed room, a drawing room and sit-out or verandah with rich period furniture and all modern amenities such as attached washroom with 24 hours hot and cold water. There is also a private dip pool in the open back-yard.
Heritage Premium are 20 elegant, air conditioned houses with all modern amenities like spacious washrooms including garden baths with cold and hot water, television with satellite connection, telephone with STD and ISD facility, mini bar and coffee maker. Premium Mansion are 15 rooms perched at the edge of a 120 feet high cliff with the most magnificent view of the Arabian Sea.
The Beach Grove block is situated on the beach at the foot of the 120 ft. cliff. The block has 24 contemporary rooms facing the sea. A lift is available here.
Dining
The resort has an 'open house' restaurant which overlooks the pool. The 'ocean grill' beach side restaurant is situated between the beach grove and the sea while there is a separate Ayurveda Restaurant where you get only Ayurveda dishes.
